Information You Provide
- Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, depending on your settings, your name and email address. This is used to create and secure your account.
- Pet information: Details you choose to add about your pets, such as name, species, breed, weight, birthday, and photos.
- Activity data: Records you create in the App, such as meals, walks, medications, weight entries, vet visits, reminders, and notes.
- Photos: Images you upload to build your pet's photo timeline.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage and analytics data: We use analytics tools to understand how the App is used (for example, which features are opened and general interaction patterns) so we can improve the App. This may include device type, operating system version, app version, and anonymized usage events.
- Subscription data: When you purchase a subscription, our payments provider processes the transaction and provides us with your subscription status. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising in the App.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and operate the App's features (logging, reminders, photo memories, insights).
- Sync your data across your devices.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Send local notifications for reminders you have set up (these are scheduled on your device).
- Process and manage your subscription.
- Understand and improve how the App performs and which features are useful.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Legal Bases for Processing (UK/EU Users)
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: To provide the App's core functionality once you create an account.
- Legitimate interests: To improve and secure the App, where this is not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: For optional analytics and notifications, where required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: Where we must process data to comply with the law.
Third-Party Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services to operate the App. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations:
- Authentication: A third-party authentication provider manages secure sign-in (Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google).
- Backend and storage: Your pet data, activity logs, and photos are stored on a secure cloud backend provider.
- Subscriptions: A subscription management provider processes purchases together with the Apple App Store.
- Analytics: An analytics provider helps us understand app usage in an aggregated and privacy-conscious way.

Data Sharing
We only share your information:
- With the service providers described above, strictly to operate the App.

Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, including pets, activity logs, and photos, from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information to comply with legal obligations.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information ("right to erasure").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.

FurNote is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls through our service providers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in countries that may have different data protection laws. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by applicable law.
